I have no idea how long I’ve been in this darkness. All I know is that there’s nothing here but endless blackness, and strangely, I’ve grown to like it. In a way, it felt like the real world.
After what felt like an eternity, I suddenly heard laughter. I raised my head and saw an old man in front of me, smiling happily. I had no idea what was up with this old guy, so I stayed silent, just watching him. He stared back at me. It was like we were in some kind of staring contest.
But then, out of nowhere, he burst into hysterical laughter. He stepped closer to me and asked, "Do you know who I am?"
I looked at him, and then, I started laughing too.
“Hahaha…”
The old man looked shocked as he watched me laugh. Then, I finally spoke:
“Hahahaha... Damn, what’s wrong with this world?”
"Old man, are you an idiot? How the hell would I know who you are when I’ve never seen you before?"
The old man was taken aback, then said quickly, “You don’t know me? This old man is the God of Destruction, you idiot! The worlds tremble in fear at my name, and you dare laugh in front of me?"
The old man seemed pissed, like his pride had been wounded by this young brat.
God of Destruction? What the hell? Who even is this old man?
He must’ve noticed my confusion because his expression changed, and he asked, "Boy, what’s the current date in your world?"
I looked at him and laughed again, “I don’t know, old man. Guys like me don’t care about stuff like that. Hahaha!”
The old man kept staring at me before he finally smiled and moved closer, saying, "You're definitely interesting. No wonder the system chose you as its heir."
The system? My expression changed. This old guy knows about that damn system? He must be connected to it somehow. Then he continued, "Boy, it seems a lot of time has passed since this old man died. So, it’s no wonder you don’t recognize me. Honestly, for someone like me to be forgotten, it must’ve been a few billion years."
He sighed, then added, "Anyway, you’re the system’s heir now. Well, raise your strength quickly. With your current power, you’re not even worthy of breathing the same air as me.”
---
What arrogance! “Old man, I don’t give a damn who you are! I don’t want your stupid system. I want to get rid of this thing. That damn system has the nerve to give me orders like I’m some servant. Screw that!”
The old man looked so shocked that his face turned pale. That’s when I realized that this system was far more valuable than I ever imagined.
What I didn’t expect was for the old man to suddenly vanish and reappear right in front of me, moving at an insane speed. He grabbed me by the throat and pulled me close, his face inches from mine.
“I’ll ignore your insolence because you're ignorant. And because I admire your pride. But don’t forget, a real man knows when to advance and when to retreat.”
He tightened his grip. “The system is beneficial to you. One hundred percent beneficial. Its purpose is to boost your power quickly, so stop thinking of the missions as orders.”
“That’s all you’ll know for now. As you grow stronger, you’ll learn more, boy.”
Before I could say anything, I lost consciousness. As I drifted into the darkness, the old man stood there, speaking to the system, “Master, I didn’t expect someone with my ambition to appear in this world after all this time.”
The system responded, “Sir, I, too, didn’t anticipate finding someone like him.”
The old man laughed, his voice eerie, “That little brat has a heart darker than mine. Hahahahaha!”
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself back in the palace, surrounded by the sounds of screaming and chaos. It seemed the battle had started. The mission screen appeared in front of me again, but this time, I decided to do things my way.
“Why not welcome this chaos in my own style? Hahahaha!”
I commanded the system, “What’s the highest level of warriors in the kingdom?”
The system began to search… “Detected. Most warriors are below level six of the Beginner Realm.”
“What a weak kingdom.”
I grabbed the closest weapon hanging by the door. It looked like a massive barbaric axe. It felt perfect in my hands, like it was made for me.
I stormed into the battlefield, cutting down everything in my path as if they were nothing but ants. Everyone was stunned by the scene, unsure of what the hell was happening.
The city had fallen, and the kingdom was being invaded. Hahaha, these bastards couldn’t touch me!
Level 7 was considered high-level for this weak kingdom. I turned the battlefield into a pile of corpses, and the feeling was glorious.
---
But what shocked them even more was that I wasn’t just killing the enemy—I was slaughtering everyone. Friend and foe alike.
Chaos spread everywhere, but I thrive in chaos! Hahahahaha!
I was killing everyone in the most brutal ways possible. Some people vomited, others tried to flee. But who cares? I’d already decided to kill everyone. Their fates were sealed.
They were only still alive because I didn’t have any proper combat skills yet. Plus, I hadn’t fully adapted to my new strength. But on Earth, I had plenty of life-and-death experiences in gang fights.
I love death, but it doesn’t love me. We’re just companions in this game.
Finally, after half a day of slaughter, I had wiped out all the armies—both the enemies and the kingdom’s soldiers.
The system screen popped up, showing that I’d earned system points for killing enemy soldiers. Hahahaha!
I immediately opened the store and looked for skills. Maybe you don’t know, but I love fire. Flames, hellfire, anything that burns is my kind of fun.
I browsed through countless skills and categories, then learned that this world divides power into three main types:
- Warrior Energy: Spirit energy
- Mage Energy: Magical energy
- And then, there are the Shapeshifters—people who can transform into other creatures and possess essence energy.
But when I checked my own status to find out what category I belonged to, I was shocked.
---
“What the hell? There’s no category listed!”
Suddenly, the system’s voice echoed in my head: “You are a ‘Heaven’s Heir.’ Heaven’s Heirs can use all elements and combat classifications. They’re a fusion of all types of energy. Your energy is called ‘Shinsoo,’ the strongest type of energy.”
This was incredible. I had access to so many abilities. I needed to harness them with precision and intelligence.
I opened the store to purchase skills. The combat skills were categorized by power, from weakest to strongest:
- Mortal Rank
- Earth Rank
- Heaven Rank
There were even higher ranks, but they were locked. The system said I was too weak to even see their names.
What the hell? How am I supposed to afford these? Even a basic Mortal Rank skill costs thousands of system points! Meanwhile, Heaven Rank skills are priced in the millions. Damn it!
Since I only had 10,000 points, I bought a Mortal Rank fire skill called "Flame Dragon." It allows me to summon a dragon made of fire, effective in both close-range and wide-range attacks.

What’s this? I have experience points? How do I use them?
*Ding!* “Experience points can be used to level up. Would you like to level up?”
Damn it. This system can read my mind for sure.
