Episode 30

Concealment After Assassination.

This was a traditional infiltration method indispensable since the dawn of the Assassin Order.

When players find their infiltration routes blocked, they often choose this approach.

Some even play by assassinating every single NPC.

But.

What Seojun did was on another level entirely.

Killing NPCs before they could even spot him—forcing them into an assassination state while they were still entering alert mode.

In short, it was a playstyle that brute-forced everything through sheer skill.

-This guy's showing off again lol

-Go ahead, take all the glory LOL

-Anyway, witness-free assassination shudders

-Killing them right before they witness anything chills

In difficult areas like Alberk Palace, assassinating and concealing a target meant allies would notice their absence after some time.

Here, killing an NPC and hiding the body forced you into a timed challenge.

“Well. Let’s pick up the pace from now on.”

Not that he was particularly rushed.

After all, he’d decided to stop caring about noise entirely.

Click-clack

Seojun strolled down the hallway—no, strutted would be more accurate.

And when Royal Guards approached upon hearing those footsteps—

He drew a dagger from his inventory and threw it.

“Assassination’s definitely easier than going loud.”

After hiding the fallen NPC in a nearby empty room, Seojun walked on.

-We never agreed to call this an assassination;;; -Kinda embarrassing tbh haha

-He kills them before they even see him shudders

Alberk Palace’s corridors were lavishly decorated, their grandeur visible even at midnight, wide enough for multiple people to walk hand-in-hand.

Thud thud

From the opposite end of the spacious hallway came the dignified footsteps of Royal Guards—elites trained in both magic and martial arts,

their every step oozing well-earned pride.

The moment even a sliver of the uniformed knight became visible around the corner—

Swish!

A dagger sliced through the air, embedding itself in the Royal Guard’s throat.

The guard gaped in shock before closing his eyes forever.

-Sick move! That prediction shot!

-He didn’t even look, did he?

-That makes it even more insane lol

-Just straight-up legendary

Once again, only one set of footsteps echoed in the hallway.

“Quiet suits me just fine.”

Making this very un-intruder-like remark, Seojun surveyed his surroundings.

Even with blueprints, Alberk Palace remained labyrinthine.

Viewers, having given up on seeing him fail, began guiding him instead.

Seojun found stairs leading downward and followed their advice.

“Oh.”

He exhaled softly, letting only his audience hear his quiet admiration.

Twin staircases—worthy of a heroine’s grand dress reveal in a climax scene—welcomed him,

leading down to a banquet hall that stole his breath.

“The background art here is incredible.”

With that whisper, Seojun vaulted over the railing.

Below stood two Royal Guards flanking the hall entrance.

Seojun descended toward the right-side guard,

his coat fluttering dramatically.

Milliseconds before landing,

his thrown dagger severed the right guard’s lifeline.

Then—in one fluid motion—

he yanked the blade free while pivoting to hurl it at the left guard.

WTF DID HE JUST DO HAHAHAHA

-He just took out two like that!

-Now THIS is assassination!

-Dude’s just good at assassinations lol

Normally,

a one-second kill animation triggers during melee assassinations.

In high-difficulty areas like palaces,

taking out one of two guards this way would inevitably alert the other.

With only one dagger remaining,

most would feel cornered.

Not Seojun.

He closed the distance to point-blank range before throwing—skipping the animation—then retrieved the dagger mid-combat to eliminate both.

When he explained this, viewers collectively facepalmed.

-Bruh just throw the dagger and rush the other guy with a sword LOL

-Literally has other weapons besides daggers smh

-Streamer’s lowkey dumb. That’s why we love him tho

“Ah. Right.”

Seojun conceded gracefully. “Didn’t think of that. Your way’s probably easier. But—”

it was mostly due to lack of deep consideration. “This method isn’t hard either. Try it sometime.”

His smirk practically dripped through the screen.

Viewers lost their minds.

-OMG he trolls every chance he gets

-Don’t give this evil streamer openings to mess with us guys LMAO

-???: What, you got a problem with me just doing my thing?

-Oh God, why’d You give talent to someone like him?

-Seojun wins!

“Assassins always use daggers, right?”

Seojun smiled victoriously and headed toward the Queen’s chambers.

-Wait, if assassins use daggers, does that mean I’m not an assassin since I’ve been slashing with a longsword?

-Streamer’s contradicting himself LOLOL

Honestly, who cares if it’s stealth or all-out carnage?

As long as the stream’s entertaining, that’s all that matters.

“Let’s skip the trivialities.”

Seojun’s deep voice resonated pleasingly.

-Yes, bro.

-Yes, oppa.

-Ugh, if I’d said that, I’d get cursed out. Guess looks buy you free passes lol.

-Suddenly so annoyed. Unfollowing right now.

Seojun grinned and crossed two daggers between his fingers.

One was a kitchen knife he’d picked up on the way.

He stretched his arm in the darkness, aiming at his target.

Hmm. First time throwing daggers with different weights.

But it’d be fine.

Swish!

The two daggers flew almost simultaneously.

The two guards at the chamber doors dropped at once.

“Guh—!”

Nice.

A short death cry echoed as Seojun strode boldly through the main entrance.

Getting caught didn’t matter now.

“Well, Scam Dice-nim, how’s my infiltration?”

-[Chat] Scam Dice crying over the real-time mission request LOLOLOL

-[Chat] This guy’s a maniac! Stealth? Assassination? He just goes berserk!

-[Chat] Madman! Madman! Madman!

[‘Scam Dice’ donated 100,000 won!]

[Wait… did I just get scammed? Shivers]

Seojun thanked them, and the chat laughed.

Then—someone stirred, sensing his presence.

Ziiing!

A crimson glow gathered at the front of an orb materializing beside Seojun before firing as a beam.

The Queen—the Ruler—had awakened.

“You lowly creature. How dare you trespass?”

The woman who’d been lying in bed was now behind Seojun in an instant.

The Queen’s strategy was already public knowledge.

Another streamer had defeated her before Seojun.

Not surprising—other Rulers had been beaten sporadically too.

Thankfully, no one had collected all the Fragments of Order yet.

Because no one had defeated the Lord of the Spire.

Players like Richard Neville could replicate Seojun’s tactics if skilled enough.

Weakness Detection helped.

Drake was also beatable with top-tier gear and skills—though only by a rare few.

Of course, they’re the extreme minority.

But the fact that some succeeded mattered.

The Lord of the Spire was different.

Those who acquired Weakness Detection rushed to challenge him.

All to replicate Seojun’s lightning strikes.

And they were shocked.

The weak points were absurdly narrow.

The lightning vanished too quickly.

[Chat] How the hell did No-Name pull this off? LOL

[Chat] Even creepier—he didn’t even use Weakness Detection OMG

[Chat] Dude’s reflexes are bird-level.]

Even ignoring the lightning, the difficulty was brutal.

Seojun’s reputation soared.

The conclusion?

People aren’t expecting me to beat the Queen again.

She’d already been defeated once.

What they really wanted was someone collecting all the Fragments of Order.

Seojun activated Weakness Detection, analyzed the pattern, and slashed the Queen’s Mirror.

The mirror—a reflective glass orb—was her signature weapon.

It floated freely, reflecting attacks or casting spells like an orb-type weapon.

They say Weakness Detection nerfed her difficulty hard.

Crash!

The mirror shattered, glass shards scattering.

Suspended by some force, they obscured Seojun’s vision.

“How dare you break my—!”

Through the fragments, he saw the Queen swing her arm from across the room.

A dagger shot toward him—weaving precisely through the glass debris.

The blade multiplied into illusions as it reflected off surfaces.

But there’s only one real one.

Seojun never missed an attack in combat.

Clang!

His dagger intercepted hers midair.

He retaliated by throwing his own blade.

“Ah…….”

The final sliver of HP dwindled away.

The queen gasped her dying breath and fixed Seojun with hollow, despairing eyes before collapsing.

-Clean finish OMG

-True class difference lolol

-One attempt. No damage, no skills. WTF

-Let’s move out!

“It’s over.”

A notification chime rang.

[Queen Arietta has been slain.]

[Fragment of Order (4/4) obtained.]

[All Fragments of Order collected. Hidden Scenario ‘Choice’ has begun.]

As Seojun read the messages, a crow descended and perched lightly on his shoulder.

A letter hung from the bird’s leg.

“A messenger crow?”

When Seojun removed the paper, the crow flapped its wings and soared out through the balcony.

He unfurled the tightly coiled scroll.

The letter instructed him to claim his reward at a specified location.

“Sent by the Branch Leader.”

Likely where the next phase of the scenario would unfold.

-I waited a week for this!

-Choice? What choice?

-Please don’t go rogue... please don’t go rogue...

The destination was a fourth-floor abandoned factory in Alteon’s southern outskirts – effectively the edge of the game map.

“Well, let’s check it out.”

Seojun exited Alteon Palace as casually as he’d infiltrated it, consulting his map as he moved toward the marked location.

He needed to traverse the commoners’ District 4 before descending further.

-The godlike streamer’s doing this?

-Strike while the iron’s hot!

-Phew. Almost sparked a riot.

A cutscene triggered upon arrival.

“Why summon me?”

Alteon’s Branch Leader Arthur emerged from behind corroded machinery, maintaining considerable distance from Seojun.

“Nameless. You’ve slain the Queen.”

“And?”

Arthur’s eyes bulged.

“Damn it! Didn’t I warn you? Rash actions bring greater consequences! The Fanatics are mobilizing!”

Though his tone remained measured, Arthur couldn’t fully mask his fury – his hands trembled visibly.

“We requested reinforcements, but no response yet. I said to wait until then! Couldn’t you even hold back that long?”

The cutscene’s protagonist (not Seojun himself) remained unperturbed:

“Your problem, not mine. More coming? Just more to kill.”

-Is this a cutscene or the streamer moving? lol

-No way lololol

-Prob because we picked those dialogue options with Arthur last time

-Yikes...

“Right. You were never truly our brother. Never accepted missions.”

Arthur’s trembling ceased as he smiled beatifically, as if never angered:

“But Nameless...you’re formidable. So enthralling that even defying my control to disrupt order becomes permissible.”

Control and order – heresy from an Assassin’s lips.

The protagonist sensed danger and shifted into combat stance.

Shink!

Arthur’s thrown dagger whistled past as the protagonist dodged and glared.

“Explain this.”

“Heh. Expected as much from the man who slaughtered four comrades.”

“Comrades? Don’t tell me...”

The protagonist’s face contorted in realization.

“Exactly. I’ve been collaborating with the Assassin Brotherhood leaders.”

-WTF trash plot twist

-Since when is the Branch Leader...?

-Final boss?

-So this is the true ending. Makes sense

“One reason: our mutual destruction was inevitable. But when you Western Slayer arrived, Alteon’s balance shattered. So I decided – use you to eliminate other leaders and install my own.”

This explained why mission acceptance blocked Fragment collection – complying with Arthur’s orders conflicted with hidden quest requirements.

“But your independent actions complicated my plans, delaying Alteon’s takeover.”

Arthur raised a detonator with a smile.

“Still, credit for eliminating them. Now die.”

He ascended nearby stairs as explosions erupted below. Flames engulfed successive floors.

On the fourth floor, the protagonist chose to leap through a window rather than pursue.

His rushed jump from the height resulted in a crash-landing. From the rooftop, Arthur launched a final dagger with a triumphant smirk.

As the protagonist closed his eyes expecting death – Seojun shared the assumption – a third-person perspective revealed a shadowy woman deflecting the blade and escaping with him.

“Hmm. A traitor? Unanticipated, but the chase should prove entertaining.”

Arthur remained composed, whistling for a crow. He attached a message to its leg:

[Nameless has betrayed us for the Fanatics. Designate him priority assassination target.]

Gasping breaths.

Seojun found himself piggybacked by someone breathing heavily, still too weak to move.

Ding!

A window materialized before him. Seojun’s eyes lit up in understanding.

“This could be fun.”

-Holy

-Absolute legend lolololol

-Hidden quest is insane OMG

-Let users taste their own medicine!

-LOL the tutorial’s revenge quest had to go to OP streamer
