Episode 25

"Ah. It's over."

The screen returned.

The sensation of losing and regaining control of his body felt distinctly awkward.

Seo-jun looked around.

"Why is no one here?"

The entrance of the Magic Tower.

The once-bustling street now lay completely empty.

Building windows were shut, curtains drawn tight.

-After all that chaos lol who’d stick around walking?ㅋㅋㅋ

-The thunder was crazy loud though ㅋㅋ

"Hmm..."

Seo-jun glanced around briefly before turning back.

The utterly vacant Magic Tower.

A sense of déjà vu crept in,

and the viewers seemed to share the sentiment.

-Lmao again?ㅋㅋ

-No way?

"Well, another flawless assassination success."

Seo-jun stated flatly, as though reporting facts.

-The audacity lololol

-But the devs literally certified it wasn’t an assassination!

-If the streamer says it’s assassination, it’s assassination!

-No witnesses = assassination, but there were tons here??

"Everyone, devs and witnesses aren’t the point here."

-Then what IS the point?

-The dictionary defines assassination as secretly killing someone!

"Don’t cheap-shot with dictionary definitions. Consider this a warning."

Seo-jun’s stream rules had no actual warning system.

Meaning this was pure bluff.

-Sorry!ㅋㅋㅋ

-Cowards! All you viewers!

-Fight with lies and hype, not facts!

-Justice prevails!

Seo-jun snorted and stepped away.

"Well, then—"

That’s when it happened.

A hand shot from an alley, yanking Seo-jun’s arm into the shadows.

It was Christina.

[Money acquired.]

[Reputation increased.]

Notifications chimed instantly.

Rewards for capturing a faction leader.

"I said I don’t need these."

-Keep it! Keep it!

-Lmao getting pickpocketed in broad daylight

-No other loot?

-Wait who’s that guy beside Christina noona?

Seo-jun wondered the same.

The rugged middle-aged man beside Christina was an unfamiliar NPC.

Of course, from Seo-jun’s perspective, every NPC was new—but viewer curiosity signaled a fresh character introduction.

"Nameless, thank you. Three faction leaders are already gone because of you. But..."

Auto-dialogue activated as Christina began her thanks, only to be cut off by the man. He stepped forward with a slight bow.

"I’ll handle the explanation from here. First, welcome, Nameless. I’m Arthur Haig, branch leader of Alteon."

-Oh? HE’S the branch leader?

-That jerk ignores everyone but crawls to our streamer?

-Why’s he using informal speech?

-Ugh, even the branch leader’s hot. Life’s unfair.

Arthur Haig, Alteon’s branch leader.

Per the game’s lore, he was the highest-ranking NPC in the assassin faction—and until now, shrouded in mystery.

"First, on behalf of all assassins, I thank you. Alteon’s streets are safer thanks to you."

Arthur bowed deeply to Seo-jun.

-Lol the streamer DID clean up the market

-<<<< Guy who fought gangs while pickpocketing

-Why’d you ignore us during past assassinations?

-How should I know?

"However..."

Arthur slowly straightened.

His eyes, gradually revealed in the dimness, glowed faintly.

"I ask that you halt faction leader assassinations for now."

As Arthur finished, dialogue options appeared:

[--> Why? Give me a valid reason.]

[--> No. You couldn’t have handled it without me.]

-LMAOOOOOOO

-Why do I SEE which option he’ll pick?

-Same

-2222

Seo-jun moved to select the second option instantly, then froze at the chat.

His viewers weren’t having it:

-JUST CHOOSE ALREADY LOLOL

—Hanamja trait: When seen through, he stubbornly picks something else out of pride.

—Wouldn’t picking the first option here be too lame?

“What can I do? Since you all seem to want the latter option so badly, I’ll proceed as you wish.”

Chat flooded with comments like ‘Since when do you listen to us?’ and ‘Typical Hanamja making excuses,’ but Seo-jun didn’t even blink as he selected the second option.

“No. You couldn’t have handled it without me anyway.”

Arthur’s hand twitched slightly at those words.

But Arthur calmly began explaining.

“Yes, that’s undeniably true. However, problems arose because you captured the rulers……”

Currently.

The upper echelons of the cult faction, having lost three rulers, were on high alert due to the crisis.

With their superiors gone, the lower members were running rampant.

Arthur explained that if the last remaining ruler disappeared, even greater damage could occur.

“As you know, even if we eliminate all the rulers, the cult faction won’t disappear. They’ll only grow more frenzied. At least wait until we finish preparing to handle Alteon and clean up the aftermath.”

With that, Arthur melted into the shadows.

“Well then, I’ll take my leave. Thanks.”

Christina flashed a bright smile before pulling up her hood and disappearing into the shadows as well.

—As expected, Christina noona is the best.

—But the branch leader’s backside looks kinda sketchy?

—Something feels off.

—That guy’s got something sinister about him.

—If we assume the purple noona from that cutscene is part of the cult faction, it doesn’t add up.

“True. What could it be? Not that I won’t capture her anyway……”

—LOLOLOL

—The streamer looks like he wouldn’t listen to a damn thing anyone says, agree?

—Honestly, that’s just hate.

—They’re just jealous he’s handsome LOL

Seo-jun glanced at the time. It was about time to log off.

“Anyway, let’s call it a day for today’s stream.”

—Stop!

—Ah!

—Pls don’t rage quit like this 😭

—Tsk!

Seo-jun immediately closed the game and returned to the lobby. The background changed in an instant.

He then fidgeted with the window.

—Why isn’t it off?

—Should’ve turned it off by now…

—Don’t tell me he forgot how to end the stream?

—Tech illiterate smh

“Sigh. It’s not that I don’t know how to turn it off. The reply came surprisingly fast though. Here.”

—LOL what kind of response is this?

—They could’ve just ignored him tbh

—Such a nuisance LOL

—How is this a nuisance? It's just a game company, not emergency services.

—Cut the seriousness already

—Game companies mess around like this all the time LOL

“Yes. With this, I am officially proven cheat-free.”

Seo-jun wore a proud expression.

—Nice!

—LOL is he colluding with the devs? That skill level and no cheats?

—FR LOL didn't they say earlier the devs gave him missions?

—Whoa!

—Whoa seriously?!

—Maybe they let him off because he confessed…

—LMAOOOO

“Anyway, moving on. Now……”

—Tsk!

—Bye!

—Later!

“One last thing.”

—Ugh just go already!

—Can't you stream a bit longer?

—So what is it?

Seo-jun hesitated briefly. He had much to consider.

YouTube.

If Seo-jun planned to retire from streaming soon, outsourcing channel operations would be more efficient than hiring an editor just for clout.
