Chapter 24

The moment Seojun's sword pierced precisely into the intersection—

ZZZT! A crackling sound erupted right before his eyes.

It happened in an instant.

A blue lightning current surged into his blade.

The azure energy absorbed into the sword condensed into pure white light. Sparks crackled as the blade grew heavier, sending numbing vibrations through his arm.

“Hmph.”

Seojun swung his sword.

The condensed white lightning detonated with a thunderous crack, crashing into the bookshelf-lined wall.

KABOOM!

The bolt lingered against the shelves for a second before vanishing.

THUD! CRASH!

Books spilled to the floor first, followed by the collapsing desk.

[Chat: Whoa? WTF]

[Chat: Is he using raw magic?]

[Chat: What’d he do? Weakness scan skill?]

[Chat: Solo player flex as usual]

Exactly as it seemed—

the key to defeating the Tower Lord.

‘So he really was the creator. Of course.’

Seojun leaned back with a satisfied grin.

ZZZT!

Lightning streaked overhead.

Seojun pinpointed another faint intersection, drove his sword into it, then swung toward the Tower Lord.

A blinding white bolt slammed into the translucent spherical shield. Though capable of teleporting, the Tower Lord held his ground. Cracks splintered across the shield’s surface.

“Your own magic breaks you, huh?”

Blue lightning arced through the air, met by white retaliatory strikes. Their clash continued until—CRACK!—the shield shattered.

Seojun immediately whirled, hurling lightning at the glass tube behind him.

“You insect!”

The Tower Lord’s pupils dilated. Forced to teleport—

CRASH!

The tube exploded, revealing a glowing soccer ball-sized ring vibrating violently.

The Tower Lord’s brow furrowed as he glared at Seojun from his new position.

“Hah… You thought breaking that would solve everything? Fool. The core merely refines infinite magic drawn from the tower for my use.”

Seojun shrugged. “Someone’s rattled.”

[Chat: LOL for real]

[Chat: Problem solved?]

[Chat: Found infinite mana’s source?]

[Chat: Transformer OP]

Unfazed, the Tower Lord continued: “I wield infinite power regardless. More energy flows to me now—enough to crush you swiftly.” Blue veins pulsed across his face.

“Stop yapping,” Seojun said, resting his blade on his shoulder.

[Chat: Exposition much? Scared?]

[Chat: Transformer weak point confirmed]

[Chat: Just survive phase 2]

Veteran players recognized the mechanic—survive the enrage timer for an auto-win. Seojun noticed through the chat:

“AI’s garbage. Shield won’t break without lightning. Digging his own grave.”

[Chat: LOL just spam basic spells till enrage kills him]

“Then… die.”

The Tower Lord raised his hand. Magic swirled violently, sucking air inward with unprecedented force. He vanished—

—reappearing behind Seojun. “Insect!”

KABOOM!

Thunder roared as blue streaks lit the air. Seojun dodged right, but the floor erupted where he’d aimed his counterstrike. He twisted mid-swing to shatter the stone instead.

The Tower Lord teleported again—now in front—veins bulging as magic rained down faster and fiercer. Amidst the storm, Seojun scrambled to decipher attack patterns.

[Chat: This difficulty’s insane]

[Chat: How’s he dodging all that?]

[Chat: Make up your mind—mob grind or boss fight?!]

-FR LOL They put so damn much effort into making this, then set the difficulty like this so no one can clear it.

"Right? I feel this every time—the devs are kinda twisted."

Ice arrows whiz past Seojun on both sides.

Simultaneously, lightning strikes from behind.

"No idea how long we’re supposed to last, but finishing it beats waiting to die, yeah?"

Seojun sidesteps and drives his sword into the lightning.

The blade glows white.

Stop dodging while reading chat, you bastard.

LOLOLOL

Declaring he’ll end it mid-fight.

Lightning forming on his sword is legit cool tho

A white bolt fires from Seojun’s blade—

Just as a blue one comes flying back.

Two spells cross midair.

Close call.

"Bold of you to spam attacks relying on your shield."

The Tower Lord’s replenished shield shatters; Seojun evades the lightning.

He stabs his sword into the spell’s core like drawing from a sheath—then yanks it free.

Electricity gathers anew.

‘Ending this now.’

With no shield, this was his chance.

BOOM!

Lightning erupts from Seojun’s sword—but the Tower Lord’s already gone. Teleported.

Or so it seemed.

"Ghk—!"

A sound from the right.

???

WTF just happened?

Since when was there a sword in the Tower Lord’s gut?

HOLY SHIT HE PREDICTED IT LOL

"Mages really are fragile."

Seojun’s right hand was empty—he’d thrown his sword while firing lightning, anticipating the teleport.

He walks over and pulls the blade from the mage’s stomach.

Gurgle. Thick blood spills from the Tower Lord’s mouth. Clutching his side, he glares up:

"You insect…"

"Shut up."

Seojun’s blade flashes—fight over.

[The Duke of the Tower has fallen.]

[Fragment of Order obtained (3/4)]

YES!

Rewatch the ending. That was insane.

Clearly a fluke. Got lucky, right?

Stop coping LOL

Kept dodging lightning so he threw a sword instead LMAOOO

Nuts

"Guards still not coming?"

Seojun scans the tower calmly.

Facts

3 rulers down!

Another world first!

"Then I’ll take the mission reward."

[Cleared the Tower Lord without using Weakness Detection — Mission Reward: 1,417,000 won]

Seojun presses the success button for the mission now worth 1.4 million won.

A celebratory chime rings out, delivering the reward as a donation alert.

LOLOLOLOLOL “Safe asset” my ass—this was pure chaos

Just you wait

Would’ve been fun if Toto joined

Only the streamer’s all smiles

[‘Bangju’ donated 100,000 won!]

[Well done. Turns out you just need skill to clear it. ㄷㄷ]

"Ah, thank you for the 100,000 won donation, Bangju-nim."

But the donation message felt pointed.

The chat explained why:

Oh! It’s the forum OP.

Bangju was watching too ㄷㄷ

He’s a famous analyst.

Ex-pro from a collectible card game.

Bang’s take: Just clear it with skill.

Bang’s take: Seojun’s skills are beyond god-tier

Bang’s take: If Seojun were pro, he’d have won championships.

Seemed he was a big name.

Still, how far will these guys go?

Seojun shook his head.

"Alright, time to leisurely explore the tower. No one’s left to bother us."

You killed them all LOLOLOL

BTW I want Weakness Detection too—looks sick

As if you could split magic like that?

I don’t even want the lightning LOL

Seojun chatted while scanning the map, then descended.

As he exited the tower—

A cutscene played.

O???

-I've never seen this before.

-Was there ever anything in this broadcast that wasn't a first? LOL.

Amidst the multicolored light streaming through the stained glass.

Click-clack.

A woman walked in, wearing a hat pulled low over her distinctive violet hair that cascaded down to her shoulders.

The scene shifted to a man gazing up at a mural, followed by the woman standing beside him.

Both were dressed in immaculate uniforms.

The man spoke first.

“Alteon?”

The man staring at the mural didn’t budge.

“Seems we had a friend who took care of our work for us.”

The woman’s melodic voice chimed in.

The violet-haired woman also looked up at the mural.

“Did they handle all of them?”

“No. Just the rotten branches. Three out of four.”

-They’re talking about the streamer, right?

-Aren’t they from the Order?

-Calling them ‘rotten branches’—definitely the Order of Cosmos.

To put it simply, Dawn of the Assassins’ storyline is about the battle between the Order of Cosmos and the Assassins.

Though it got rebooted with the capsule system, the dynamic remains unchanged: Assassins eliminating the Order, society’s villains.

Assassins pursue chaos; the Order pursues cosmos (order).

Assassins label the Order as oppressors; the Order brands Assassins as anarchists.

Here, chaos isn’t mere disorder—it’s a liberating state that births order.

“Assassins?”

A flat voice.

“Dunno. They didn’t assassinate in their usual way.”

The woman’s voice tickled his ears.

-Whoa hahahaha.

-Streamer. The devs said it wasn’t an assassination?

-LOLOLOLOLOL

-Dev-confirmed: streamer’s act wasn’t assassination.

-This might stir some debate though?

Viewers seemed fixated on odd details.

“Can we recruit them to our side?”

This time, the woman spoke first.

“Dunno.”

The man echoed her.

“Guess we’ll have to go see for ourselves.”

The woman sighed and turned away, as if to leave again.

“You were already planning to go anyway.”

“Yeah, pretty much.”

She briefly removed her hat to adjust her hair.

Her face flashed on-screen—a beauty rivaling Christina from the tutorial—and viewers erupted.

-Wait, is that noona coming for us now?

-Story-wise, they’re definitely Order members LOL.

-Should I ditch the Assassins?

-Huh. I kinda like being oppressed.

-Y’all crazy? She’s still Christina noona.

-So what even is this video?

-If only streamer gets mad seeing this in-game, instant upvote LOL.

“So you caught the Tower Lord after all.”

Eve Faimo laughed hollowly.

Ironic, since she’d set up this mission herself—but she hadn’t expected brute-forcing it.

To beat Tower Lord solo, you must disable its barrier.

The easiest method was exploiting weak points via a specific skill.

She’d banned that skill for this mission, forcing streamers to find flaws in barrier patterns.

But this one? They spotted and countered a lightning spell’s pattern—visible for just one second—without any skill help.

Lightning Counter. Raiban.

A flashy parry system she’d added for style.

“Come to think of it, they brute-forced other rulers too. Hmm. Now that cutscenes are unlocked, next stream will be all about gathering Fragments of Cosmos…”

Truthfully, Eve wasn’t some clueless idiot making staff overtime for fun.

She just wanted to confirm.

That keen eye spotting patterns.

That skill clearing rulers back-to-back first.

“Recruit that streamer alone.”

Other users?

Frankly… probably hopeless.

“Exactly one week left…”

Smugly satisfied, Eve called Kim Yoon-chan.

“Hmm. What gift would work best?”
