Episode 17

"Hello. This is our first time meeting in reality. I’m Jin Seo-jun, a travel streamer."

Seo-jun opened the door, approached the desk with the camera, and waved.

He then sat in the prepared chair beside him.

Alpaca pulled out the chair for Seo-jun and spoke as he settled in.

"So, everyone. Doesn’t Mr.Seo-jun look exactly like his avatar? I told you, right?"

Alpaca giggled triumphantly.

-Wow

-Why’s he so handsome? Why’s he so handsome? Why’s he so handsome?

-Reality’s even better, holy shit lololol

-The world’s so unfair—he’s a literal gem

-But why do YOU like him, Alpaca? lololol

-Alpaca’s out here touching his nose, eyes, and shaving his chin

Alpaca laughed until he saw a chat message, then scowled.

"Hey! My face is the same scan from my twenties! What ‘touching’ are you talking about? I look exactly like I did years ago!"

-???

-Huh?

-What? Does he seriously not know?

-lololololol

-ㅡㅡ (literally Alpaca’s face)

"Okay… I know I’ve gained a little weight…"

-Just a little?

-Really just weight?

-Bro got bombarded by the passage of time

-Mr. Seo-jun next to him makes the contrast brutal lololol

"Nope. Can’t hear you. Can’t see you."

Alpaca shut his eyes and feigned ignorance, subtly sliding his chair away from Seo-jun.

"Mr. Seo-jun, could you shift a bit to the side? For the frame…"

"Huh?"

-lolololol

-100% self-aware

-Huh? Why you scootin’ away, bro? lololol

Seo-jun obliged while Alpaca distanced himself and grabbed the mouse.

"Alright! Let’s do a quick Q&A. Nothing wastes time better. Donations are open again—oh my god!"

Alpaca suddenly flinched and frantically clicked the mouse.

"What’s wrong?"

"I set the minimum to 10,000 won ($7), but donations flooded in instantly! Are people that curious? Raising it to 50,000 won ($35). If you’re not dying to know, just ask in chat instead! Done!"

Alpaca set down the mouse and explained computer streaming to Seo-jun.

The framework matched capsule streaming—natural, since Travel streams through computers too. Only interface details differed, which Alpaca highlighted.

"Mr. Seo-jun likes beef, right?"

Clap

Alpaca clapped after releasing the mouse.

"Yes."

Seo-jun nodded.

Few people disliked beef, after all.

"Good. I’ll set up food and broadcasting gear in the living room. Let’s see your communication skills."

Alpaca stood and vanished off-screen, rummaging through drawers for equipment—they couldn’t grill meat in the room.

Seo-jun played the first donation:

[Oppa, I love you.]

"Ah, thank you. But are you really a female viewer?"

He replied with a smile.

-What’s with the “Oppa”?

-ㄷㄹㄷㄹ

-(Flustered)

Alpaca shouted from behind while carrying equipment:

"You’ve never donated like this to me! And it’s just 10,000 won?!"

-Is he gone?

-Gone.

-If you’re jealous, reincarnate, Alpaca lololol

-Can’t lie—truth hurts

-People should have conscience

Backbiting began once Alpaca left—until he suddenly reappeared on screen.

"I was watching everything on my phone, folks."

He gestured by pointing two fingers at his eyes, then at the viewers. Repeating the motion, he retreated backward out of the room.

Did he return just for that line?

"Almost as scary as Dad pulling an all-nighter."

-lol fr

-Dad’s all-nighter vibes lololol

Seo-jun chuckled and queued the next donation.

"Looks like game talk’s coming up next."

[I want the Weakness Detection skill too—can you show other examples of Resolve?]

Most skills in Seo-jun’s window remained locked.

It would’ve been strange if Seojun, who lacked playtime and hadn’t properly attempted assassinations, had many skills unlocked.

Yet, a single new skill appeared in his skill window—the very goal of today’s collab stream: Weakness Detection.

‘Try it out!’

The alpaca and viewers erupted as Seojun actually unlocked the skill. He shifted his streaming view to his perspective and activated Weakness Detection. Instantly, the background transformed—like thermal vision, as chat described—with lines highlighting every object in sight. Though he could only spot basic gear like daggers in the marketplace, those lines clearly marked flaws. Slash along them, and the equipment would break.

Chat went wild, desperate to get the skill themselves. The only problem?

- How tf do you break gear mid-fight with Richard??

- Is this difficulty for real??

- Even regular NPCs’ flaws are hard to hit—how about a Dominator?

- help pls 😭

Seojun scratched his cheek. ‘Well… if you wanna see more cases, catch my stream tomorrow.’ That was all for today. ‘And hey, bet there’ll be pros better than me who’ll unlock this soon and share tips.’

- Sure, ‘humble’ lol

- Etor, Drake Perkle, Richard… This dude 1v30’d them without missing a parry, spotted flaws without skills, shattered guards’ shields/weapons, and one-hit obliterated Richard’s armor—stripping him to his underwear. And he says others might be better? I wanna see those legends.

- hahahaha

A conspicuously bold message popped up—sent by the alpaca outside. ‘Haha. Next!’

[Behold the owner of 25 million points! Praise me—no, praise Seojun-nim!]

The Assassin of Joseon had sent a triumphant donation. He’d bet the max 250K points on Seojun finding 4+ flaws and hit a 100x payout, rocketing to 1st place with double the points of the 2nd-ranked viewer (10M). A historic moment in Travel’s legacy.

Seojun clapped. ‘Congrats! Next!’

[What’s Fragment of Order?] Back to game talk.

Fragment of Order.

[Disassembler’s boss Drake has died.]

[Fragment of Order (1/4) acquired.]

This alert had appeared when he defeated Drake yesterday—and again after killing Knight King Richard Neville:

[Fragment of Order (2/4) acquired.]

Though the item had no description, like Weakness Detection, it sparked curiosity because Seojun was the first to obtain it. The condition was obvious:

- Game favors solo massacres?

- How are we supposed to kill Dominators??—

- Low-key jealous this is content only he can do rn.

Killing Dominators not via assassination, but sheer carnage. Yet one mystery remained: its purpose. Not consumable nor equipment, just sitting in the misc tab.

When he’d gotten the first fragment from Drake, few viewers noticed. Now, Seojun shrugged. ‘I don’t even know Assassin’s Dawn lore well.’ He glanced away awkwardly, earning roasts:

- LMAOOOOO

- Devs dropped a lore bomb and this noob got it smh.

- Absolute legend.

- Do we have to figure this out?

- Who else can even kill Dominators?

He fielded more questions/donations:

[What workouts do you do?]

‘Just running.’

- Note: running…

- No martial arts? :)

‘Nah. But I’d probably crush it.’ He bit back adding: Could coach pros tbh.

- VR ≠ IRL but skills usually transfer.

- True lol.

[What do you do IRL?]

‘Just a normal college student.’

- With that face? Cap.

[Why start with Assassin’s Dawn?]

‘A friend recommended it.’

And so on.

Seojun made sure to answer questions popping up in the chat so that those chatting wouldn’t feel left out.

He didn’t forget to thank them either.

That’s how he handled the backlog of donations.

“Hmm, should I lower the donation amount?”

It wasn’t like there weren’t people donating 50,000 won at a time.

But Seojun decided to lower the price, not to make money, but because he thought there might be people who genuinely wanted to ask questions but couldn’t due to the high price.

The price did feel a bit too steep.

“Hmm, how do I do this again?”

The sound of mouse clicks kept coming.

But nothing changed in the stream settings.

[Wait, is he seriously struggling to find it?]

[LOL he’s really tech-illiterateㅋㅋㅋㅋ]

[No wonder he was late starting the stream earlier.]

Streaming settings were more complicated and finicky than expected.

“Haha, everyone, I’ll find it soon. Just a moment.”

He couldn’t even rely on viewers for help. Unless they had streaming experience themselves, most would’ve only ever seen the broadcast screen.

“Ugh……”

In the end, Seojun searched online for how to set up travel donations and browsed a few sites.

But he couldn’t find a clear method—nowhere explained in detail where to click from the start.

“I know I won’t forget once I figure it out… Alpaca, I’m calling you over.”

Seojun sighed with a gloomy expression.

[Ugh, this is so frustrating lol just take this donation.]

[Bro, this isn’t part of your bit, right? Please say no.]

[I can barely breathe watching this. My grandpa could find it faster than you LOLOLOL.]

Donations started pouring in one after another—some even over 50,000 won.

“Ah, thank you for the donations. But hold on—stop sending them. I’ll lower the amount soon.”

[No, I’ll waste my money if I want. Don’t stop me.]

[A streaming monster! A donation genius has appeared!]

[What if we made this guy play PC games instead of VR?]

[What if even this is part of some elaborate script? O_O]

Despite Seojun’s protests, viewers laughed and happily threw donations his way. They were hooked on his charm.

[LOLOLOLOL]

[How far ahead is he planning?]

[Damn, a broadcasting genius.]

[He shouldn’t be learning tricks like this alreadyㅋㅋㅋㅋ]

“Food’s ready, so come out now. Though Seojun, you sure are good at collecting donations. You really have talent for streaming.”

Alpaca gave a thumbs-up and opened the door to call him.

“If you were watching, you could’ve helped earlier.”

Seojun grumbled under his breath. What kind of old man struggles with computers this much?

Alpaca grinned as he disconnected the streaming setup from the computer.

“Well. Thanks to you, we hit the jackpot with donations.”
