Episode 16

"Alright, let's get back to talking about the game. Seojun. How on earth did you do that?"

Alpaca turned his head toward Seojun with a serious expression.

"I really need to know. What exactly did you see, Seojun? I'm sure our viewers agree, right?"

     Eh?

     Hacks maybe?

If there's some hidden system to see this stuff, that'd be so disappointing

     He's an alien lol

Seojun shook his head at the chat messages.

"Guys, I'm not an alien. Not using hacks either. To be honest, I'm not seeing weak points."

"Then what is it?"

Alpaca asked with genuine curiosity.

Seojun put on a slightly ridiculous serious face.

"I just know. Because I'm a genius."

Alpaca completely failed to control his expression, staring in disbelief.

-LOLOLOLOLOL

-OMG he's so savage lol

-Tbh at that level he might actually be a genius

-Alpaca's face LMAOOOO

Alpaca pursed his lips, let out a hollow laugh, then smiled mischievously.

"Guess I'd die of shame if you weren't a genius. Stop joking and explain properly. Or I'll think you're hacking too?"

When VR became widespread, the first thing to disappear was hacks.

The reason lay in the technological gap.

Surface, the megacorp that practically monopolized the VR market.

Their technological lead was so vast that even other conglomerates struggled to hack their capsule terminals.

Not to mention VR malfunctions could be life-threatening.

So external programs were strictly controlled by Surface.

Making Alpaca's hack comment completely absurd.

Seojun knew Surface well too.

"But wouldn't making hacks be more impressive than seeing weak points? Surface would probably recruit you."

Seojun confidently puffed out his chest.

-Now that you mention it...

-Fr if he can make hacks why stream? Surface offers insane benefits

-Other VR companies would recruit him too no?

"Huh? That's true! Why didn't I think of that?"

Easily convinced, Alpaca nodded and burst out laughing.

"Well, what I just said was a joke though."

"Which part? Surface? Or the genius thing?"

"The 'just knowing' part. Though it's half joke, half truth."

"What does that mean?"

"There's literally no better explanation than 'I just know'."

The chat flooded with comments calling BS and deception.

Seojun waved his hands placatingly.

"Haha, calm down everyone. It's not some special power. Just thought about where developers would put it if I were them."

Well, it was special in a way—intuition only possible from Seojun's past life experience. But there was no need to explain that much.

'Not like anyone would believe reincarnation anyway.'

He could reveal it if needed... but might need some adjustments first...

Just then, Alpaca suddenly shouted like he'd figured something out, snapping Seojun from his thoughts:

"Whoa! Damn. So... you read the developers' minds? Just from seeing two examples?!"

Seojun nodded—exactly right.

"Wow, that's insane genius level! Though hearing it makes me more suspicious. Hmm..."

Alpaca stroked his chin skeptically.

-LMAOOOOO

-Are there others who can do this?

-If you can just know does that make you a genius?

-Since when could anyone know this stuff? Scam?

"Exactly! Feels like you're from another world. Could you find other stuff easily too?"

"Yeah. But..."

"What?"

"Parrying exists to help clear mobs easily right?"

"Yeah. System added so players can mow down enemies."

"But this weak point system is harder than parrying yet only destroys weapons without damage boosts or anything."

-Ooh sharp observation

-Then what's the point? Only you can use it lol

-We struggle with parrying too~

Alpaca clapped.

"Oh! True enough! As expected from the man who pioneered Drake's new route. You've got real gaming talent."

"Thanks for the praise. Anyway, this weak point thing seems like a boss-only system maybe."

"Could be. Boss difficulty was crazy high especially Drake... Oh right."

A shadow crossed Alpaca's face as he sighed deeply.

-LOLOLOL

-King of gaming getting worried

-PTSD before even starting LOL

Seo-jun patted Alpaca's shoulder and said, "I think this system is designed for boss battles. So I'm going to challenge the remaining two with the Overlord's equipment."

-???

-The underdog bettors suddenly started sobbing lol

-That won't work.

-Let's find another safe method before tackling the Overlord.

"Tsk. Can't you see this is clearly a system for the Overlord? Just trust me." Seo-jun thumped his chest.

[User 'TrustedYourBet' donated ₩10,000 - whale alert!]

[Okay okay, let's destroy those minions' weapons first while handling point predictions before attemptingㅎㅎ]

-Honestly 100x odds make my eyes roll

-Fact) Most who bet on 1% weren't trusting the Professor

-At this rate, does betting on finding 2 even have hope???

Seo-jun's eyes sparkled as he watched the chat.

"Hmm. You all claim not to trust me, but let's verify. Alpaca?"

Seo-jun called out.

"Yes?"

"Let's open another prediction poll?"

Bets never lie.

Alpaca immediately understood and began tweaking the prediction system.

[Prediction]

[Can Seo-jun destroy the Overlord's equipment during today's stream~]

[Yes]

vs

[No]

-Kya! They're feeding us again.

-Good thing I held back earlier

-I lost everything but still bet my last 150 pointsㅎㅎ

Alpaca and Seo-jun waited for bets to pour in.

Then.

Time passed and results emerged.

"Ah! The odds flipped! Chat kept saying Seo-jun would fail, but look at this!"

Alpaca began teasing viewers with exaggerated gestures.

[Yes 80%]

[No 20%]

-Lol betting points forces honesty

-Even winning only gives 25% return. Some get 100x

-Damn I'm jealous of the 1% early bettors

-I originally bet 'finds nothing'. Now on 'Yes'. If this fails, I'm coming for you.

As expected.

"Knew it'd turn out this way."

Alpaca nodded beside him.

[You only bet 'No' to recover losses?]

A donation popped up:

-Seriously never touch stock trading

A heartfelt message appeared in chat.

Seo-jun and Alpaca nodded gravely, praying this viewer never entered the stock market.

Anyway.

'This collab stream's working well.'

Their skills had clearly impressed the viewers.

"Alright Seo-jun. Shall we go slay the Overlord?"

Richard Neville.

The aristocratic faction leader meditated at the center of an ash-gray training ground vast as a warzone - Overlord of the northeastern frontier.

Epithet: Knight King.

A 2m-tall giant wielding a massive greatsword.

While capturing Drake required assassinating him through dozens of guards, Richard Neville presented the opposite challenge.

He simply meditated motionless in his spot.

To defeat him:

Acquire special sniper weaponry

Eliminate his son Louis Neville and exploit Richard's momentary emotional collapse

Both methods were brutal.

The first due to item scarcity.

The second because mistiming meant instant retaliation from the Knight King.

Choosing direct combat?

His impregnable armor rendered attacks useless, leaving fighters bisected by his greatsword.

None of this concerned the figure currently battling before Alpaca.

'So...do you know anything about Richard Neville?'

'No?'

Alpaca recalled their earlier conversation en route.

'Figured. Well, his greatsword's slower but has combos. Maybe observe first—'

'It's fine.'

'Eh?'

'I'll dodge as needed. Whatever.'

Tch.

Who was worrying for whom here?

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

Richard's blade carved air left-right then right-left, hurricane winds trailing its path.

But Seo-jun leisurely traced the flaws in the greatsword, matching his own blade to its swinging trajectory as if painting strokes.

His relaxed demeanor made it seem impossible he’d ever be hit.

“Can’t find it?” Alpaca shouted loudly at Seo-jun’s repeated failures, the distance between them just far enough to warrant the volume.

“Nope.”

“A viewer mentioned Richard’s weapon was forged with special materials according to the lore. Maybe there’s no flaw to find.”

“Oh, really?”

Look at him. Look.

Watch as he twists his body slightly, effortlessly evading the greatsword. Seo-jun was clearly making eye contact while talking—yet without eyes in the back, he simply turned and ducked to dodge attacks from behind. Then he even had the leisure to check the floating chat window:

-Yes!!! Lmaoooo failure incoming?

-This is why arrogance gets you killed.

-Damn, we’re screwed. Nameless Seat, watch your back tonight.

“Oh no. What do we do? The Dominator’s flaw doesn’t exist.” Seo-jun laughed.

Not a shred of worry on his face—only the viewers were burning with anxiety. Especially those who’d bet against him from the start:

-My 100x bet 😭😭😭😭😭

-Time to teach those contrarian betters a lesson!

-I’ll lose twice if it means you fail this time!

The rest were in a festive mood. The second prediction round had far lower stakes than the first, so most just wanted to avoid others hitting 100x payouts—their stomachs already churning from losses.

But then—

Seo-jun’s sword began to dance. He pierced Richard’s wrist, traced the flaw up his torso, then slashed downward:

Swiish!

Craack!

Richard Neville’s prized armor began splitting apart. Only the weapon had been special—Seo-jun had sensed the difference in texture during their clashes.

“Oops. My mistake. The sword was flawless, not the rest.”

The armor unraveled like loose thread:

[Unlock Condition: Destroy 10 weapons via flaws (4/10)]

[Unlock Condition: Destroy 10 weapons via flaws (5/10)]

...

[Skill ‘Weakness Detection’ unlocked.]

What remained was a 2m-tall middle-aged man in stockings and garters, clutching a greatsword:

-Nope, fake news

-Ah! My eyes!

-Holy shit! 100x hit!!!

-It actually worked omfg lol

-GGGG

Whooosh.

Seo-jun emerged from the capsule.

“You’re as incredible as ever, sir,” greeted Lee Su-han, Alpaca’s editor. So awkward.

“Thanks for lending the capsule.”

“No, thank you for using it. It probably learned a lot today.”

What kind of nonsense is this now? And why are YOU here? Seo-jun turned to find Tae-woo beside Su-han.

“No stream today?”

“Nah, took a break. Couldn’t miss this.”

“Makes sense. ‘Announced I’d be here, so figured they’d come,’” said Kim Tae-woo, scratching his head. Seo-jun nodded and entered the living room, pulling up Alpaca’s stream on his phone:

-Call him now! x4

-Just be pretty! x3

-Remove Alpaca! x4

-Go set the table! x3

[Folks, calm down—oh, “shut up”? Got it.]

The remaining schedule was a team dinner. While preparations continued, Alpaca asked Seo-jun to kill time with a quick introduction:

[Alright! Come out now…]

Seo-jun opened Alpaca’s door at the sound of his name.

Clunk.

“Hello. We’ve never met offline, have we? I’m Jin Seo-jun, a travel streamer.”
