Chapter 24: The Beginning of the Past Arc
Over a decade ago, fifteen-year-old Yun Xinyu, carrying a large backpack, stepped through the gates of Fengcheng First High School.
Surrounded by students and parents arriving for registration, Yun Xinyu pushed a suitcase that seemed too big for her, dressed in a white shirt and black jeans.
Her delicate features were exquisitely beautiful, and her exposed skin had gained a healthy tan after basking in the summer sun. She had a classic oval face with a small, pointed chin, and large sparkling black eyes that held a hint of liveliness and mischief.
Gazing at the gates of the prestigious high school she had finally been admitted to, Yun Xinyu’s face showed a trace of pride and anticipation. She smiled slightly, revealing white teeth and shallow dimples, appearing warm and adorable.
Most other students arrived accompanied by parents, but Yun Xinyu’s father was too busy with work to spare time, forcing her to report alone.
By the time she finished all her tasks and settled into her classroom, it was nearly lunchtime.
Suddenly, a familiar voice reached her ears:
“Xinyu?”
Yun Xinyu turned to see her friend Ye Xue. To their surprise, they had been assigned to the same class...
They chatted excitedly before heading to lunch together.
As they walked toward the cafeteria, an exceptionally handsome boy approached.
He stood tall, wearing a baseball cap that shadowed his eyes, but his visible features were flawless: a sharp, pale chin, thin cherry-red lips, and a high nose bridge.
His hands rested in his jacket pockets, exuding casual elegance. His demeanor radiated noble aloofness, with flaxen hair barely visible beneath his cap.
He merely passed by, yet his presence made others feel insignificant.
Yun Xinyu barely glanced at him, though briefly dazzled—she’d never encountered someone with such striking charisma.
Ye Xue, however, clutched her arm excitedly, gushing about how unbelievably handsome he was...

All freshmen underwent military training followed by student council recruitment. Yun Xinyu had no interest in joining, but Ye Xue dragged her into signing up.
The selection process proved rigorous. With no prior experience, they were quickly eliminated.
Having low expectations, they weren’t disappointed. Rumor had it, however, that the new student council president was remarkably handsome.
Next came the welcome party. Both the president and vice presidents would participate as hosts or behind-the-scenes organizers, fueling anticipation to glimpse the legendary president.
During performance sign-ups, Ye Xue again pulled Yun Xinyu into auditioning. Talent alone sufficed here.
Yun Xinyu, having practiced piano under her father’s strict guidance since childhood, possessed advanced skills for her age. She secured a spot effortlessly.
Ye Xue’s ballet piece was also selected. Her affluent family had prioritized grace and posture, enrolling her in ballet and jazz classes from a young age—disciplines she’d mastered.
Rehearsals began intensely, but the fabled president remained unseen.
Before the event, a final dress rehearsal required all participants—hosts, performers, and crew—to attend.
That day, the legendary president finally appeared. He sat observing from a shadowed corner of the stage.
Just then, host Bai Jiajia, clad in formal attire, approached him:
“President Luo, any issues?”
“The performance order needs adjustment. Swap the first and fifth acts, and move the piano piece to the finale.”
“Understood. I’ll notify them immediately.”
She hurried off. Bai Jiajia, one of the student council vice presidents, had been Luo Fan’s middle school classmate.
