 Chapter 24

Kairan’s Blessing was a buff-type skill that doubled physical and magical attack power along with critical hit probability, while boosting both physical and magical defense by 500. This all-purpose AoE buff was exceptionally rare—even among dedicated buffers, few had mastered it—and carried a price tag of 13 billion won.

Next was Taesan Garugi, a tank skill that defied its name. Tanks typically lacked strong offensive abilities, relying mostly on aggro-generating attacks that prioritized threat over damage. But Taesan Garugi belonged to an elite group of skills enabling tanks to rival or even surpass DPS classes. It dealt 500% of the user’s weapon attack damage, gaining an additional 20% per skill level. Combined with its defense-piercing effect, this meant damage output scaled directly with weapon quality, bypassing enemy defenses entirely. Market value: 40 billion won. A skill of staggering worth.

“Whoa! This isn’t a dream, right? Ha! Unbelievable.”

Junhyeok had hoped for decent returns from the C- and B-rank monster skill cards, but this exceeded all expectations. These weren’t just valuable—they were legendary.

“A 13-billion-won skill and a 40-billion-won one… Should I really list these here? Ugh, this is torture.”

The astronomical prices made him hesitate. Not just due to the risk, but because he desperately wanted the skills for himself.

“Kairan’s Blessing and Taesan Garugi… I need these. What if I just learn them?”

Together, they totaled over 50 billion won—an unimaginable sum for current Junhyeok. Yet his desire burned as fiercely as the numbers intimidated him.

“But can I even use them?”

Skill cards were class-locked: DPS for DPS, tank for tanks. Junhyeok’s Copy Master class belonged to no category—not even support—yet could mimic any class’s abilities. The conclusion? He either couldn’t learn skills at all… or could learn any.

“Screw it. YOLO. Skill acquisition—Taesan Garugi!”

[System Alert] Skill acquisition failed. User’s class does not match the skill’s requirements.

“Figures. Wait—can I copy it? Copy!”

[System Alert] Copy failed. Target is not an awakened entity.

“Ugh… No workarounds?” Unless buyers learned skills immediately upon purchase—a rare scenario—he’d hit a wall. Then his eyes lit up.

“Wait… Maybe there’s a way?” A sly grin spread across his face. “Heh. Why choose between profit and power? Let’s do both.”

After listing Ice Trap (1.2 billion won starting bid) and Deadly Strike (11 billion won) on the marketplace, Junhyeok browsed Force Life’s databases. Villain profiles, combat patterns, recent sightings—all shockingly precise. “No wonder villains get wrecked. This intel’s gold.”

By 5 PM, he retrieved a Dealer Awakening Stone from his inventory. “Time for the final move.”

Junhyeok stood outside a fourth-floor apartment. Ding-dong!

The door opened to reveal a grandmother squinting through thick glasses. “Junhyeok? What brings you here?”

“Is Changsoo home?”

“That brat? Glued to his computer as always. CHANGSOO-YA!”

A disheveled young man stomped out. “What now—Hyung-nim?!” He executed a perfect 90-degree bow.

Junhyeok sighed. “Grandma, could we discuss Changsoo’s future?”

Inside, Junhyeok carefully broached the subject. “If Changsoo awakened as a combat class… would you let him become a Hunter?”

“Hunter?!” The grandmother recoiled. “That’s suicide!”

“It’s safer than being a Porter!” Changsoo blurted, earning a glare from Junhyeok.

Placing a crimson stone on the table, Junhyeok declared, “A Dealer Awakening Stone. Worth 10 billion won. I want him to have it.”

Chaos erupted.

“Have you lost your mind? Sell that! You need the money!”

“I’ve registered as a Tank. When I start hunting, I’ll need someone trustworthy.” Junhyeok’s gaze hardened. “He’s reckless, but loyal. And if you forbid this, he’ll sneak off as a Porter anyway.”

After prolonged negotiation (and Changsoo’s tearful promises to behave), the grandmother relented.

Later, as Changsoo awakened into an Assassin—close-range, not the preferred ranged Dealer—Junhyeok quietly copied every skill.
