Chapter 90: Author's Note on Going Live
Many readers must be surprised—didn't I just update in the early hours? Why another chapter? But when you click in, you'll find this is an author's note about the novel's official release.
Ahem... It's going live.
The time? Tomorrow at midnight.
To be honest, it's a little awkward. I couldn't outcompete other novels in the same batch, so I didn't make it onto the "Sanjiang" recommendation list. That's why I'm publishing directly now.
But this failing author has tried their hardest, and I'm deeply grateful for everyone's support along the way. If it wasn't meant to be, then so be it.
Truthfully, this book's current performance has surprised me.
When I first started writing, I only spent two or three days brainstorming before drafting a detailed outline for the opening chapters.
After finishing the prologue, I uploaded it directly through the backend. It wasn't until I'd posted nearly 30,000 words that I finally received a platform contract—special thanks to Editor Yexiao for rescuing this manuscript.
Looking back, some parts of the novel were indeed written too casually. This might explain both my years of stagnant progress and my failure to compete with others.
But later sections were crafted with genuine effort and careful plot planning. Still, flaws remain...
...partly due to my own limitations...
...and partly because in a "shuangwen" (wish-fulfillment novel), story logic sometimes must yield to satisfying moments...
...so I can only strive to keep the narrative reasonably coherent.
Writing this...
...I actually have countless thoughts...
...but upon reflection...
...I'll set them aside...
...or rather...
...it's better to wait until this story grows longer...
...before sharing more.
After all...
The official release is just the beginning. The road ahead remains long and fraught with challenges.
Release day will bring a 20,000-word update—this I promise.
Afterwards, daily updates will range between 8,000 to 10,000 words.
Extra chapters for milestones? None. Yes, you read correctly.
The truth is, maintaining this update pace already pushes me to my limits. I also don't recommend sending tips—it's truly unnecessary.
That's all.
I humbly ask for your continued support!
Your subscriptions are the greatest fuel for my updates!!!
I beg of you!!!
