Chapter 1: Not Everything Goes According to Plan
"My Lady, are you really going to see him?"
The guard asked worriedly, looking down at the little lady before him.
"Uh-huh."
Grand Duchess Kynemia Leon, now eleven years old, smiled with an angelic face and nodded.
As her soft, light golden hair swayed, the guard clutched his chest, which was suddenly throbbing.
'So cute…!'
Everyone in the Grand Duchy wished they had a daughter like Lady Kynemia.
Soft, light golden hair, round, large eyes, and pinchable, plump, rosy-red cheeks.
He rarely saw someone as important as the Grand Duchess in the dungeon.
And yet, she'd just dropped a bomb – she was going to see a prisoner.
The guard glanced at the nanny behind her as if trying to read her expression and said,
"But he's not someone you should be meeting, my Lady."
The nanny sighed softly. Even the nanny, who had served Kynemia her whole life, couldn't break her stubbornness.
"He's a dangerous person."
A couple of weeks ago, a boy trespassed on the Grand Duchy's hunting grounds.
Covered in blood and tilting his head to the side, the boy saw the dozen or so bewildered knights, smiled, and muttered,
"Damn, I thought I got 'em all. Didn't think any were left."
Facing the knights, he wasn't intimidated at all, but rather relaxed, which made the knights nervous instead.
Then he passed out cold.
The guard figured that was the only reason they'd caught him.
The unidentified boy, who was covered in someone else's blood, was currently imprisoned in the dungeon because he had clearly hurt someone.
However, despite the guard's worries, Kynemia said in a firm tone,
"I know. Now hurry up and take me to him."
Her eyes were hard, and she wasn't about to back down.
The girl in front of him, even though she was only eleven years old, was the Grand Duchess who would one day inherit the title of Grand Duke and the owner of this Grand Duchy.
A lowly guard couldn't refuse her orders, even if he was worried.
The guard answered, "Yes," and began to move forward.
"Watch your step, my Lady."
"I'm fine."
"We get rats down here, too. Sometimes…"
Kynemia, who'd been all 'I'm fine,' snuck her hand into Nanny Vanessa's.
Vanessa squeezed her hand, her face saying it all: 'See? Why did you have to be so stubborn?’
